Why these six words

Some F words get bleeped. These six get avoided, which may be worse.

I started thinking about them as a parent, right as my kids were moving through the 15-to-18-year-old years. I kept asking: What did I really teach them? What was I supposed to explain? How would I even know what they were missing?

Then the question opened wider. Parents are not the only people who miss something. Most of us were expected to understand fear, money, friendship, influence, family, and the future without ever having one clear conversation about them.

As an educator, I am used to breaking big ideas into language people can carry. That is how fears, finances, friends, followings, family, and future became six doors into the parts of life nobody should have to figure out alone.

The books develop the ideas. The apps turn them into practice. The F Word Conversations give the language a voice. The resources offer somewhere useful to go next. The website is the table where all of it meets.

The goal is simple: say what matters, start where you are, and make the hard conversation ordinary.
